MINA LUNDGREN “THE CUBE”
Mina Lundgren's “The Cube” collection examines the relationship between the cube shape and the body, using textile materials. It explores how the static qualities of the cube can connect with the organic elements of the body, enabling these two extremes to interact.
The collection shows how the static cube shape loses its original form when made with different textile materials. A balance of stability and softness is achieved by combining both complex and simple constructed garments into a unified whole.
Inspired by the theories on three-dimensional space developed by American artist Donald Judd, "The Cube" explores the expressive potential of cubic volumes designed around the human form from both volumetric and textile viewpoints.
Mina Lundgren's work explores abstraction as a unifying element across various aesthetics and expressions. Using a geometric language, she values the power of subtle differences in form.
Mina Lundgren studied at the Steneby School of Arts and Crafts, the University of Gothenburg, and Central Saint Martins, and earned a Master's degree in Fashion Design from the Swedish School of Textiles, University of Borås.
